Luiz Zanotello's (*1986, Brazil) work is marked by a poetic inquiry into technological ecologies of affect and imagination. Departing from pluriversal perspectives to experience, his practice often unfolds as transmedia installations, texts and performances that inquire into the paradoxical nature of language and the poetic-technical image. By reappropriating tools and intersecting methods from the fields of art, science, and technology, he explores new constellations of transdisciplinar thought and its critical contingencies. Based in Berlin (DE), he is currently a PhD Candidate in Artistic Research at the University of the Arts Bremen (DE) together with the PhDArts program (Academy of Creative and Performing Arts and Royal Academy of Art, NL) funded by a scholarship from the german Studienstiftung.
His work has been shown in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb (HR), the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna (AT), the Personal Structures Biennial in Venice (IT), the Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe (DE), and Cidade das Artes in Rio de Janeiro (BR). He was Assistant Professor for New Media at the Berlin University of the Arts (DE) for six years, as well as a DAAD scholarship holder, a Frese Stiftung Preis awardee, an artistic resident of the Akademie Schloss Solitude, the European Media Art Platform, among others. He holds a BA in Design from the São Paulo State University (BR) and an MA in Digital Media from the University of the Arts Bremen (DE). For a full CV and list of references, please contact:
